A serious problem with obesity in the West

15th European Congress on Obesity held in Budapest, Hungary, experts pointed out that statistics show that in Europe almost half the population overweight, 10% to 20% of the men are obese. Europe is estimated that about 11 million people with severe obesity, the United Kingdom are one of the highest degrees of childhood obesity in Europe, about 30% of overweight children. Eastern European countries, the proportion of obese children has also continued to rise.

Obesity has plagued a lot of Europeans, the EU health and health sector to obesity as serious public health problems. Recently, Euro stat released the investigation report said that Britain is a country with the highest of the EU the proportion of obese population.


According to the survey in 19 EU countries to obtain the relevant data, obesity proportion of the total population is very uneven. The highest proportion of the United Kingdom, 23.9% female and 22.1% of men are overweight.
